Buzzfeed News reports that C.Wonder, the lower-priced Tory Burch-esque chain started by Burch's ex-husband, will shutter up to 20 out of 32 locations by January 1, 2015 and transition into a wholesale business. Anonymous sources revealed that C.Wonder's corporate staff has shrunk from 120 to around 75 people in the past year.
According to the report, many of C.Wonder's bad business decisions stemmed from owner Chris Burch's broken relationship with his ex-wife, prompting sources to call the mess "revenge retail." C.Wonder has not commented on the report.
