The Justice for Michael Brown Leadership Coalition is calling for a nationwide shopping boycott on Thanksgiving weekend in honor of Michael Brown. The movement has been circulating on Twitter with the #BlackoutBlackFriday hashtag, among others. According to WWD, a New Black Panther Party member named Dacia Park explained the boycott to several publications: "There will be no business as usual," Park said. "Until this nation begins to place value on black lives, there will be no value placed on this business, because black lives matter."
