Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

After cutting ties with Miley Cyrus last year, all Liam Hemsworth wanted to do was nose dive into a pillow and mope. But his Hunger Games costar Jennifer Lawrence wouldn't have it. The actor says that JLaw encouraged him to get out of his funk: "Being around someone like Jen, who is so honest and laughs all day long, I am forced to be in the right now." Also, she's a babe, so that may have helped, too.

If you're feeling particularly crappy after your next breakup, Zen master Lawrence is the woman you're gonna want to call for guidance. Or—if you'd rather stay pissed—maybe she can help you make a voodoo doll or something.
