Plus-size women's brand Eloquii raised $6 million in Series A round funding, according to the Wall Street Journal, bringing the start-up's total outside backing to $9 million. The money will be used to hire new employees to help with marketing and product design. Before the funding, Eloquii leaned heavily on social media, especially Instagram, and email marketing to promote the brand.

Though the company has only 16 employees so far, they've managed to put out two new collections every month. "We are no stranger to Red Bull," Eloquii CEO Mariah Chase told the Wall Street Journal.
