Get ready to see more Promoted Pins on Pinterest in 2015. The social site announced this week that it's opening up advertising to all US-based partners starting on January 1.
Pinterest has been beta testing Promoted Pins for eight months, and according to the Pinterest blog, users repin the Promoted Pins just as much as any other pins. The average Pin is repinned 11 times, and those stats are the same for Promoted Pins, if not higher. "Advertisers tell us Pinterest is the only place where their brand feels truly welcome," Pinterest's head of partnerships Joanne Bradford told the New York Times. Pinterest is also starting a Pinstitute, where businesses can learn how to create Pins that perform well on the site.
