New York City is freaking out over the imminent touchdown of the royal couple on US soil. If you thought for just a moment that people were ready to handle Will and Kate's arrival, just look at trending hashtag #RoyalVisitUSA.

Here's a couple of Americans who literally can't even. #remaincalm

Well played.

The crowds waiting at The Carlyle, where the royals will be staying during their trip. Hats are practically required.

Even the Empire State Building dressed for the occasion.

They're here! Wait...that royal couple is 2D.

Here they are! Just kidding. #royalvisitusa

Prince George's absence hasn't gone unnoticed.

Her schedule can't be that busy, right?

The common folk aren't the only ones excited about the royal family's arrival, however. LeBron James reportedly said it would be a "huge honor" to play basketball in front of Will and Kate, and the duo is rumored to meet with America's unofficial royal couple, Beyoncé and Jay Z, at Monday's Brooklyn Nets game. If we could be a fly on the wall of that stadium, well...we literally couldn't even.
