Gap has been on a makeover trip for most of the last year and it's still moving full steam ahead. After announcing that the company will raise its minimum wage to $10 across all brands and introducing a fresh look under its new creative director, it laid out more plans for investors yesterday. In short, Gap will be giving its website a makeover and will launch a program involving mobile devices and kiosks in which customers can order items in-store to be delivered later. It'll also take on Zara's rapid response model, in which trends are cycled through every few weeks.
In terms of brick-and-mortar expansion, the company will open 35 new Athleta stores, bringing the total to 100 nationwide, and open 60 new outlets globally. Oh, and Old Navy's betting big on "casual pants" this year. Thrilling!
