In recent years, fashion photographer Terry Richardson has been accused of inappropriate and abusive sexual conduct by more than one model, with a few going public with their stories. Just yesterday, in fact, one woman, Charlotte Waters, came forward with a horrific tale involving Richardson.
Now the photographer, who is known for his sexually-charged imagery, is striking back. In a letter obtained by the New York Post, Richardson says that although he's tried to ignore the rumors, this latest accusation was too much to ignore. "I chose to primarily ignore a cycle of internet gossip and false accusations against me," he wrote. "I felt that to dignify them with a response was a betrayal of my work and my character. [But] when these allegations resurfaced over the past few months, they seemed especially vicious and distorted...becoming nothing more than an emotionally-charged witch hunt."
Waters says that Richardson crossed lines he definitely shouldn't have crossed. "I don't even really remember what specific things were happening," she said, "but he was directing everything. Like, 'OK squeeze my balls,' 'OK, put my dick in your mouth,' 'OK, now kiss me.' It wasn't intimate. He also straddled me and started jerking off on my face." She said she reported him to the New York Police Department but that the detective wouldn't (or couldn't) pursue the case because she never explicitly said no.
