Figue (pronounced "fig") first caught our eye when they opened a skinny storefront on a quiet street in New York's Nolita neighborhood. Loaded with rich textures and accented with crocheted lanterns, the shop manages to embrace the easily contradictory concept of "gypset" in an authentic, inviting way.
Founder Stephanie von Watzdorf—whose prior gig was leading design development and ready-to-wear accessories at Tory Burch—travels the world, filling her line with a mix of original designs, embellished finds, and authentic pieces from her her journeys. Figue's debut favorite was their selection of vintage military jackets embroidered by artisans in India. The one-of-a-kind jackets quickly made their way to retailers like Bergdorf Goodman and Kirna Zabete.
The jackets return for their fall collection, called Luxe Nomad. Have a closer look at the collection—and their jaw-dropping showroom space—after the jump.
