Fox and reality-show-wizard-with-suspect-morals Ryan Seacrest are producing a show in which 12 American women are packaged and shipped over to an estate in England, where they believe they are competing to win Prince Harry's affection. The Prince Harry. In fact, the dude's an unknown actor named Matthew Hicks who sort of looks like Prince Harry.
Here's the pitch description for I Wanna Marry "Harry":
An average English 'bloke' is given the royal treatment and an upper crust makeover before meeting 12 single American women searching for Prince Charming. Will he be able to convince them he's regal? [Ed. note: No self-respecting American woman would be fooled by that bad dye job.] And if he does, will they fall for the crown, or fall in love with the real him?
How. How do these women not realize (a) that is not the Prince Harry and (b) even if it was, he only has eyes for longtime girlfriend Cressida Bonas's scrunchies? Either we've reached a new level of dating show trickery, the ladies are great actresses culled from Los Angeles' underground dens of fame hustlers turning reality star tricks ten years too late, or they're that willing to believe many things. Whichever it is, Fox teased a show out of it, it premiers May 27 and you betcha we'll be watching.
