Nasty Gal founder and CEO Sophia Amoruso has big plans for 2014 including opening a store in Los Angeles, expanding into new product categories (Nasty Gal swim) and adding home goods to the site. To help her do so, Amoruso has made a pretty big hire: Sheree Waterson, formerly of Lululemon, will come on as president and chief product officer. Waterson, as you may recall, was the chief product officer at Lulu during its sheer pants scandal and was fired because of it.
"Lululemon did a really good job of managing that [the fabric issue]. They had a ton of changes of leadership — they have a new ceo," said Amoruso. "She [Waterson] had a great run and she was there for five-and-a-half years and built an amazing business. I don't look at much more than that." Plus, sheer fabric doesn't generally faze the Nasty Gal girl.
