A Week Of Beauty With Lucky Magazine's Laurel Pantin

Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

Welcome to Beauty Diary: Seven days of getting glam with an industry insider. From publicists to professional makeup artists, this is a week in the life of someone who lives and breathes beauty.

Laurel Pantin serves, officially, as Lucky magazine's Market Editor and unofficially as a huge breath of fresh air on our Twitter and Instagram feeds. The pixieish blonde did time at both Teen Vogue and Glamour before landing her current gig, and while she's very much a part of the fashion industry, she isn't your typical fash-un girl—thank God.

In her week of documented beauty, Laurel shares her airplane ritual (the dirty martinis are not recommended) on the way to a ski vacation, desperately tries to rescue a sunburn she catches on the slopes, and quantifies her level of relaxation via her Jawbone Up.
