One bride, Shannon Jones, will do work on any cold, hard heart. With strength, inspiration, and her mother's gorgeous veil, recreated into a cap, the Kindergarden teach from Connecticut married her man, a marine, "after being diagnosed with cancer nine months into planning her wedding," as Style Me Pretty explains. Let the tears flow free. We're not holding them back. Jones told ABC News, "I heard you will lose your hair in the next two weeks. You don't envision getting married without any hair. I had envisioned my wedding since I was 2. I wanted to feel beautiful and like a bride. I was worried I wouldn't feel like a bride."
Her cancer went into remission at the end of the year and she's currently looking forward to her honeymoon. Still she doesn't regret a thing: "Nothing could have taken away all the joy. I know what's important know and what's something that doesn't mean that much...It put into perspective the marriage and what's a wedding celebration means."
