On-the-scene Vogue correspondent André Leon Talley has already filed his report from today's Kim and Kanye pre-wedding luncheon at Valentino's castle, Château de Wideville, outside Paris. And honestly, for all of its pomp and grandeur, this lunch sure sounds stuffy and boring.
Almost the whole Kardashian clan attended, garbed in Valentino—sisters Kourtney, Khloe, Kendall and Kylie; mom Kris; baby North; grandmother Mary Jo Shannon—but oddly, Talley's description and the accompanying photos make no mention of Bruce Jenner, Rob Kardashian or Scott Disick, Kourtney's partner, both of whom are in town for the affair. Maybe they opted out for something more fun.
Because no life moment would be sacred without complete and total documentation, Talley writes that, "the soon-to-be newlyweds arrived with their own personal photographer and film crews to record these special memories." Inside, the clan sat down to a coursed lunch and Kim, Kris and Valentino discussed their love of Pilates. They were served a salad of artichokes and poached egg with hollandaise, baked sea bass with zucchini, vegetable tempura, and saffron risotto.
For dessert, a sugar-free cake (Valentino, age 82, cannot have sugar any more) and then, for the others, peach and lychee sorbet served in a blown-sugar bowl. Then they all walked it off with a tour of the parterre (the formal gardens) and, because this was a Kardashian party, a photoshoot on the lawn.
