Alexander Wang Resurrects SNL's Sexiest, Weirdest Character

Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

Alexander Wang will follow up ice cream trucks in Hong Kong with a treat everyone can enjoy: The T by Alexander Wang brand is resurrecting Mango from the crypt of Saturday Night Live characters of yore for a video coming out next week. The teaser is above.

From 1997 to 2002, Mango (Chris Katton) seduced the likes of Gwyneth Paltrow, Ben Affleck and Matt Damon with small pink shirts, berets and his signature sparkly gold shorts. Basically your cute summer crop top has nothing on Mango's crop tops.

Some questions: Who will find him irresistible? Will Alexander Wang make him custom gold short-shorts? Will we be able to buy them? Can you pay a rainbow to be less beautiful? These questions and more will be answered on June 3.

Until then, re-familiarize yourself with the Mango canon. Like when he seduced Gwyneth and Grease magic happened:

Or when Mango fought his only enemy, J. Lo, in this video with delightfully bad quality:

Bon Qui Qui was T's last comedy sketch resurrection and it was glorious, so big things are ahead, everybody. Big things
