Designer Olivier Theyskens is out as artistic director of Theory, reports WWD. Theyskens, who has worked with Theory for four years, "plans to pursue other design projects." Theory's Pre-Spring 2015 line will be his last collection for the house.
Said Theyskens of the decision, "It has been an amazing opportunity to work with Andrew [Rosen, Theory's CEO] and to benefit from his knowledge in this dynamic segment of fashion. I will always cherish our friendship." According to sources that remain anonymous, Theyskens' designs helped elevate Theory's brand name but "failed to ignite sales on the store floor."
