Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

One innovative man is trying to make a little money by helping you buy embarrassing things. He's labeled himself the "Purchaser of Potentially Embarrassing Items" and he will pick up anything (with the exception of illegal or highly suspect goods) for a $5 fee. His advertisement doesn't mince words: "As I have no shame, I am offering to make these uncomfortable purchases for you." [Edmonton Journal]
