Mom Jeans Are Here To Steal Your Soul and Waistband

Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

Rachel Comey, respected indie designer, has gone and produced the most cray-amazing jeans for resort 2015. They are resplendent in their mom-jean-ness, boasting a very tall waistband paired with a generous rise, pressed pleats, slant pockets and a ever-so-slightly baggy front yoke that says, "I don't care about looking sexy."

Comey's simply taking a new trend—the lighter-wash, 100% cotton, higher-rise mom jean that's captured fashion's eye—to its most exquisitely absurd extreme. The most bonkers thing about this is we them. Pair them with a blousy top and '80s bangs at your own risk.
