Struggling department store JCPenney has made several creative attempts to woo customers back in the past two years. Like, for example, offering free haircuts for kids get bodies into the store during the precious back-to-school shopping season. And now they're going after a money-wielding demographic besides harried moms who don't have the time to put a bowl on their child's head, a demographic that loves both free things and facial hair: Hipsters. Head to a JCP Salon anytime between now and June 30 and you can get a free beard or bang trim.
The move's most likely intended to lure young folks who may be interested to find out Sephora, Mango, Aldo and Olsenboye products and apparel all exist within JCPenney's walls. And, frankly, it's a better ploy than using a completely empty parking lot as a reason you might accidentally stumble into a department store nowadays.
