Nashville hosted the CMT Awards last night, and the red carpet fashion was... interesting. The Sexiest Man in Country (according to People), Luke Bryan, showed up in a bright blue suit coat shiny enough to rival Rihanna, but he couldn't be bothered to wear suit pants because suit pants are for pansies. In fact, there must be some sort of suit pant stigma circulating in Nashville because 98% of the guys who walked the red carpet had the same idea. Cole Swindell wore the top half of a three piece suit, and Hunter Hayes, bless his heart, was one of the few to actually attempt a tie.

For the most part, the women of country scored a lot higher in terms of general red carpet appropriateness. Also to note: Kristen Bell, Jason Derulo, and John Legend (sadly, without Chrissy Teigen) made appearances. Don't think too much into it.
