Is Anna Wintour taking notes from Eva Chen now? The venerable queen of the Condé Nast empire will be putting aside some time to meet with one lucky fan to raise money to support unpaid interns, a surprisingly accessible and down-to-earth move for the woman who is known for doing the opposite.
Ed2010, the company hosting the raffle, is a magazine industry networking site popular among industry hopefuls. This particular meeting is part of a series called "Chat With An EIC" in which Ed raffles off a meeting with a magazine editor to their readers. For $3 per ticket (or $10 for four tickets), you'll get your name put in a raffle to sit down with her in an honest-to-goodness one on one meeting—but only if you're a junior-level editor or recent graduate. Anna Wintour isn't giving away her time to a lowly student, of course. Also in the fine print: "Meetings with the EIC may not be recorded and no photographs may be taken." So much for that selfie with Anna.
Even more interesting, the funds from the raffle go to support unpaid summer interns, of which Condé Nast has none after demolishing their intern program on account of being sued by several of said interns. Maybe this is the first step towards welcoming Ed's young whippersnappers once again?
