Nobody particularly likes pulling out the tube of Banana Boat at the beach, but, you know, there's this thing called skin cancer. Surprisingly Lululemon might be willing to take that gamble, as per a phrase on their positive-message filled manifesto that reads "sunscreen absorbed into the skin might be worse for you than sunshine. get the right amount of sunshine."
Business Insider was alerted to the message via a Reddit biology thread. When they reached out to Lululemon for comment, the company came back with this response: "The manifesto design that goes on our bags is a collection of statements that are ever-evolving and intended to spark conversation that is relevant at the time. To clarify, the manifesto design on our webpage is the most up-to-date and has been used on our most recent release of manifesto print bags."
The message is also included on the official manifesto found on Lululemon.com. As it turns out, the anti-sunscreen phrase isn't the only one that might be ready for a revision—the official manifesto also drops weird wisdom like "children are the orgasm of life" and "visualize your eventual demise. it can have an amazing effect on how you live in the moment." Of course, there's also "salt + high fructose corn syrup +butter = early death." Thanks for the reminder, Lulu.
