W Magazine has thrown down a fashion gauntlet, guys: "Why be normal when you can be normal and then some?" That "and then some" refers to over $350,000 worth of very expensive clothes masquerading as normal, everyday wear that W compiled into a normcore shoot that ran in the August 2014 issue.
The shoot, lensed by Craig McDean and styled by Edward Enniful, took place in a suburban home setting with models laying on lumpy recliners and trying to act normal while wearing $61,000 Dior coats. W stayed true to the normcore aesthetic by pairing the exorbitantly expensive clothes with $22 Nike socks and slides. They even threw some real $120 Birkenstocks in there. How authentic.
