Is in-Tweet shopping about to become a reality? Tech news site Re/Code spotted a "Buy Now" button on tweets from a shopping app called Fancy. The "Buy Now" buttons were only viewable on the mobile Twitter app, and when Re/Code tried to use them, they didn't work. But a source said that at one point, the button led to a checkout page within the Twitter app.
When asked about the "Buy now" button by Re/Code, a Twitter spokesman declined to comment. Incidentally, Re/Code says that Fancy has accidentally revealed Twitter e-commerce experiments before, and the Wall Street Journal reported in April that shoppable Twitter ads would be released soon.
