Lululemon thinks pretty highly of its clothes, so much so that the company felt the need to protect its designs from potential rip-off artists lurking around each and every corner. Buzzfeed reports that the activewear brand has a whopping 31 patents currently filed with the US Patent Office covering everything from garment waistbands to exercise mats.
The brand is no stranger to design lawsuits, having sued Calvin Klein and sent cease-and-desist letters to Hanes over possible design infringements in the past. Buzzfeed reasoned that the plethora of patents is Lululemon's response to ever-growing activewear competition in the retail space. Welcome to the crazy, Net-A-Sporter.
