Alexander McQueen, genius designer, was also quite catty and dramatic. Or so goes the gossip from fashion stylist Archie Reed, who according to the Daily Mail was McQueen's on-and-off boyfriend for 12 years.

Reed, who appears to have quite a history of blabbing to the press about his deceased lover, offers up all sorts of dish. For example, McQueen's reaction to seeing a photo of Victoria Beckham in one of his tartan skirts. "Lee didn't rate her as a fashion designer at all," he said, "and used to say, 'What the f*** does she know about fashion? She's a pop star, and she can't even sing.'" Ouch. "He thought David was hot, but he couldn't abide Victoria," he continued. "After he saw her in his tartans he put out the word that she wasn't allowed to get any freebies any more."

But the best story concerns McQueen's starchy assault on Madonna. "He revealed that McQueen once threw a baked potato at Madonna during a dinner party with Sir Elton John. After it hit her in the head, she refused to talk to Lee again, but he didn't care. He said to me, 'She's so stuck up her own backside to worry about anyone else.'" And that's how you throw shade, kiddos.
