Madewell Drops 47(!) New Denim Styles Today

Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

It's been a year since Madewell moved its denim HQ to Los Angeles and gave its jeans offerings a major makeover. Today, the J.Crew-owned brand is expanding the category even further, offering a whopping 47 new styles for fall from biker zip skinnies to a denim flight suit (check out both of those in the photos below). Their newest fit, the Alley Straight, boasts "a longer inseam for a pooling effect (i.e. laid-back bunching) at the ankle." Noted.

Along with the expansion of product comes a redesigned denim bar on the company's site, the digital answer to their in-store set-up. Jeans orders on the site (or by phone, if you're into that kind of thing) are offered with free shipping and free returns for full-price styles, plus any order (web, in-store, or that phone thing) is subject to free hemming. Can Madewell steal the thunder of your favorite jeans? Get a closer look at the denim portion of their fall offerings below.
