Kantar Retail just released its annual list of the top 100 retailers for STORES magazine, an industry trade publication. The list is based on total sales in 2013 for each retailer, and this year Amazon became the first online-only retailer to crack the top 10. "The combined e-commerce sales of the top 25 bricks-and-mortar retailers probably don't equal Amazon's," Kantar Retail's Bryan Gildenberg said of the ranking. "I don't think you can say bricks-and-mortar 'dominates' e-commerce."
Walmart blew away the competition with over $334 billion in total sales last year. Target clocked in at the #4 spot with over $71 billion in sales. Struggling department chain Sears may not be near death after all—it beat out fellow department store retailers JCPenney's, Kohl's, and Nordstrom to claim spot #16 with total sales of over $26 billion.
