Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

2001 was quite the year for Zoë Saldana. Riding off the success of Center Stage, the now mom-to-be starred alongside Britney in Crossroads (if you don't remember, see here).

She also starred in an available-on-Netflix flick called Get Over It. This is what Saldana wore the premiere: a loose-fitting, spandex skirt that sandwiches aqua blue in between Barney-esque purple stripes. She paired the knee-length skirt with a white lace tube top, and if you look closely, there's a metallic blue ribbon just hanging out there under her bust. Over the tube, you'll find a dark wash denim jacket—it was March in LA, after all. She finished off the look with cork wedges that have both lamé fuchsia and offensively crystallized straps. It is all glorious.

A necessary closeup on those wedges:

Fast forward many years and Saldana's current promotion for Guardians of the Galaxy involves some of the best maternity fashion we've seen. See below.
