Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

Welcome to Working It, where Racked follows street style into the office. Forget pedestrian khakis and button-downs—these fashionable professionals take dress codes to a whole new dimension. Quick, somebody call HR!

Since it was founded a little less than a year ago, Pret-a-Reporter has held down the fashion and beauty fort at The Hollywood Reporter, which means that its coverage of both categories comes with a heaping side of celebrity.

For this week's edition of Working It, we traveled to their Los Angeles headquarters to see how the folks behind the site dress for work each day. Their outfits are just the right amount of polished and playful, and they're all easy to replicate: Click through and you'll find fresh ways to bust out brands like J.Crew and Zara at the office.

Jessica Bernstein, Integrated Marketing Manager, is wearing a Zara skirt, a Theyskens' Theory top, Elizabeth and James shoes, a vintage Native American cuff, bracelets from Bead Relief and Vita Fede, a Freelook watch, and Jennifer Meyer earrings.

What's your worst shopping habit?
eBay. I'm completely addicted to eBay shopping and getting the great, original find—but it's time consuming, and these purchases add up!

What's one fashion trend you'll never ever try?
Herve Leger bandage dresses and wedge sneakers.

What' the best piece of shopping advice you've received?
Invest in the classics.

Who's your Hollywood fashion crush?
Winona Ryder and Carolyn Bessette Kennedy. I also love Diane Kruger.

Who would you swap wardrobes with in a heartbeat?
Ricky Lauren.

Samantha Smith, Social Marketing Coordinator, is wearing a Banana Republic skirt, a Loft top, Kelsi Dagger shoes, an Anthropologie necklace, and David Yurman and Giles and Brother bracelets.

What's your worst shopping habit?
Thinking that online shopping doesn't really count! I always forget that I ordered something until the package arrives.

What's one fashion trend you'll never ever try?
It's a close tie between overalls and Birkenstocks, but I'm all for toned-down variations of the two.

What's the best piece of shopping advice you've received?
If you can't decide if you want to buy something, put it on hold! You'll either be eager to buy it in an hour or have completely forgotten about it.

Who's your Hollywood fashion crush?
Blake Lively.

Who would you swap wardrobes with in a heartbeat?
Olivia Palermo, hands down. Her style is the perfect combination of classic-but-stylish pieces that never look too trendy.

Stephanie Chan, Assistant Editor, is wearing a vintage top from Just Say Native, BDG jeans, Zara booties, a J.Crew necklace, and a Nixon watch.

What's one fashion trend you will never ever try?
While I've seen other girls look great in crop tops, I just can't see myself wearing one anytime soon.

What's the best piece of shopping advice you've received?
If you can't see yourself liking it in the next six months, move on.

Who's your Hollywood fashion crush?
Emma Watson.

Who would you swap wardrobes with in a heartbeat?
Emma Stone—she always looks so effortlessly cool and polished. Plus, it wouldn't hurt to have Andrew Garfield as arm candy.

Erin Weinger, Editor, is wearing a vintage blazer, a Faconnable shirt, AG jeans, a Jacquie Aiche ring, a 1950s Bulova watch, a Saint Laurent bag, and a pair of shoes that are "super cheapy randoms sourced at a gross mall on the outskirts of L.A."

What's your worst shopping habit?
I collect cheap vintage dresses like Edie Beale collected cats.

What's one fashion trend you'll never try?
Trendy, in general, kind of freaks me out. I try to steer clear of anything that feels too saturated in the market. That said, I do kind of detest round-toe platform Kardashian stilettos.

What's the craziest thing you've done for a job?
I once stalked the Dodgers locker room for five days to get a quote from Manny Ramirez about his baggy baseball pants. I didn't get my quote—he hid from me in the bathroom and I decided it was best not to follow—but I did get to enjoy a healthy amount of Dodger dogs and see some good games.

What' the best piece of shopping advice you've received?
Save your money.

Who's your Hollywood fashion crush?
Lauren Hutton and Anjelica Huston are two ladies whose closets I wouldn't have minded raiding in the '70s. Or now.

Who would you swap wardrobes with in a heartbeat?
Julia Restoin-Roitfeld, but only if I still get to keep my vintage dresses.

Kyle Konkoski, Executive Marketing Director, is wearing a Club Monaco cardigan, a Farah 1920 willet shirt from Gilt, Seven for All Mankind Jeans, Sperry Topsider for J.Crew, and Ray Ban glasses.

What's your worst shopping habit?
Growing up in rural upstate New York, I was conditioned to shop biannually: once for summer and once for back-to-school. While I shop online now, I still do two major brick-and-mortar expeditions each year.

What's one fashion trend you'll never ever try?
Are tattoos considered fashion trends?

What's the craziest thing you've done for a job?
I started working in media as a pre-recession executive assistant at Condé Nast. Let's leave it at that.

What's the best piece of shopping advice you've received?
My wife tells me to limit any outfit to a singular piece of "flair."

Who's your Hollywood fashion crush?
Mad Men's Roger Sterling.

Who would you swap wardrobes with in a heartbeat?
Joseph Gordon-Levitt.

Best job perk?
Being bicoastal between LA and New York.

Lesley McKenzie, Contributing Editor, is wearing a Donna Karan dress, Miu Miu shoes, and antique Bedouin jewelry from Oman and Yemen

What's your worst shopping habit?
One can never have too many leather jackets.

What's one fashion trend you'll never ever try?
I'm not one for trends in general, but I don't foresee wedge sneakers in my closet any time soon.

What's the craziest thing you've done for a job?
I walked away from an editor-in-chief title and a steady paycheck to work for myself and to refocus on what I was most passionate about. As a result, I get to write about topics and work on projects close to my heart, including fashion and beauty.

What's the best piece of shopping advice you've received?
Growing up, my dad always taught me the importance of owning the perfect pair of shoes for every occasion. His words were lost on the grungy eighth grader who wanted to live and die in Dr Martens, but they've certainly stuck with me now.

Who's your Hollywood fashion crush?
Nobody can rock mullets, makeup, and mohair jumpsuits like David Bowie.

Who would you swap wardrobes with in a heartbeat?
Winona Ryder—aka Veronica Sawyer—in Heathers. Blazers, ruffled skirts, and monocle included.
