Dana Suchow of Do The Hot Pants admitted to retouching certain photos that were posted on her personal style blog over the past year. In doing so, she attempts to "lift the veil that is currently suffocating us women" and acknowledges, "that I, Hotpants, haven't been entirely truthful with you."
Hotpants has long been insecure about her stomach and skin, so the extent of her photoshopping is the removal of a zit or two, and the flattening of her stomach. Basically nothing compared to Lady Gaga's idea of a little photoshopping, BUT IF WE CAN'T EVEN TRUST THE STYLE BLOGGERS, WHO CAN WE TRUST? Anyway, kudos for coming clean.
She included her reasons for lifting the velvet curtain/a how-to guide for operating as a woman on the internet:
1. NOT EVERYTHING IS REAL.
2. DO NOT COMPARE YOURSELF TO OTHERS.
3. LOVE YOURSELF FOR WHO YOU ARE.
4. EVEN PEOPLE YOU LOOK UP TO ARE FLAWED.
5. YOU ARE A UNIQUE GODDAMN SNOWFLAKE SO NEVER FORGET THAT!!!!!!!!!!
