Nicolas Ghesquiere isn't messing around at Louis Vuitton. Purse Blog reports that one of the first bags
Ghesquiere designed for the label—the Louis Vuitton Crocodile Lady Bag PM—was just released at a starting price point of $54,500.

This is crazy, and not just because of the sticker shock. As Purse Blog points out, when a brand ventures into this kind of territory, it's usually with a tried-and-true bag that customers have bought and loved at the normal price point. In this case, the new style is hitting the market for the first time at upwards of $50k. Maybe they're taking a page out of the Hermès playbook?
