At the end of April, Express opened the first of thirty planned outlet stores across the nation, tapping into a profitable but potentially risky section of the retail industry. The venture was projected to hit revenues of $30 million by the end of the year. Four months in, the company is reporting that outlet sales will hit between $55 to $60 million by the end of 2014, and seven new store openings have been tacked on to the original 30. By the end of 2015, Express is aiming to have 70 stores up and running, with an end goal of 150 total stores.
