Claire's, like many teenage chains of the early aughts, is now grasping at straws to stay afloat. According to the Chicago Tribune, Claire's new business strategy includes opening branded spaces within Toys "R" Us stores across North America (because if teenagers aren't interested in free ear piercings and feather necklaces, maybe the toddlers will be?). The chain will also be testing out wholesaling to mass merchandise stores and exploring locations outside of malls, since malls are pretty much a retail death sentence these days.
