Have a gander at Banana Republic's new look. Masterminded by designer Marissa Webb, formerly the lead of womenswear and accessories at J.Crew, the new BR clothing and ad campaign was designed to reflect the way we dress for work now: slightly less formal and a bit more trendy. Webb and the rest of the Banana Republic team stresses that they'll still be a go-to for officewear, but it's going to a little more fun than in seasons' past.
The brand's global president said that regular shoppers will be "pleasantly surprised" and that he hopes to attract new fans. "One of our big wearing occasions is work, and over time we have probably gotten a little too serious," he said.
"My goal was showing you can wear a blazer on a weekend or a sweat pant during the week," said Webb. "People immediately think of Banana Republic as work wear, but it really is a lifestyle brand that can take you from work to evening."
