Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

The dancing duo from Silver Linings Playbook is back at it. This time, Jennifer Lawrence and Bradley Cooper take a stab at English accents in the drama-filled movie Serena. The film is based on Ron Rash's novel, set in the 1930s, where the two play business-savvy newlyweds looking to build a timber empire. This is perhaps the most serious we've seen them, so don't expect to leave off with that feel-good feeling. Do, however, expect to feel good about JLaw's period piece hair.

See the trailer below, and skip to 0:47 to see J. Law fiercely emote, "I'M NOT THAT KIND OF WOMAN." It's very dramatic and very worth it.
