Croc-like footwear—round, plastic, cumbersome looking but actually quite light—made it to fashion last night, appearing on the VFiles runway. VFiles, for the unfamiliar, specializes in '90s rave culture reincarnate, so grains of salt and whatnot.
Why fashion people on the internet didn't collectively see this coming, spread the word, and make adequate preparations is a mystery. It was really the only natural conclusion to the ugly shoe wave after several years of Birk and mandal resurgence. Maybe this is the final iteration. Maybe, Crocs aren't dead yet after all. Maybe they were dead the whole time.
