Joseph Altuzarra, Target, and Net-a-Porter.com hosted an invite-only party and shopping event last night in advance of their collaboration drop on September 14th. In line with the pencil skirts and ad campaign starring 41-year-old Eva Herzigova, it was a grown-up affair set in a dark space draped in navy curtains and lit with a web of twinkle lights from above.
Between downing floating flower cocktails and stalking cater waiters for fancy pants hors d'oeuvres, it was an opportunity to see the clothes up close. In line with the under $100 price point, fabrics and embellishments are what you would expect from Target clothes and accessories (read: those belts definitely aren't leather).
Unlike previous Target collab shopping events, this one was well stocked, with plenty to go around. Shoppers were scooping up more of the black pieces than the snakeskin print—this was in is New York, remember—with favorites including the trench coat ($89.99), the sleep set ($34.99), and the crane-accented sweater ($49.99) and dress ($49.99). The blue and white shirt dress ($39.99) was another hit among partygoers. Other pieces we thought looked especially good in person include the faux fur crop jacket ($69.99), the pencil skirt in black jacquard ($34.99), and the lace dress in black ponte ($39.99). Review the lookbook for yourself here before the pieces hit Target stores, Target.com, and Net-a-Porter.com on September 14th.
