Martyr-bragging over how busy you are during Fashion Week isn't uncommon during the marathon of shows, presentations, and parties that make up NYFW. We were curious to see who's actually the busiest of them all, so we enlisted three pros with very different jobs to face off on Saturday, historically one of the craziest days of the New York leg.
InStyle market editor Ali Pew, manicurist Jin Soon Choi, and Getty runway photographer Neilson Barnard all clipped on Nike FuelBands in our pursuit of Fashion Week energy exertion data, tracking both their steps and FuelPoints. Afterwards, they filled us in on just how many shows they went to, what shoes they wore to get through the day, and who munched on what to keep going.

"My day began at 8 a.m., working backstage at the Prabal Gurung show. I also had the Tibi show, which was the day's highlight because my nail polish company, JINsoon, sponsored the show, and I got to use my new colors. They have a crepe finish texture and make their debut at the end of September! I also had a nail test with Karen Walker, ending my day around 9 p.m."
"I wore Flamingos platform sneakers to get through the day. I ate some blueberries for breakfast, but wasn't able to eat a proper meal until dinner. The low point of the day was working in a super-tight space without air conditioning and with a lot of people. I almost lost it!"

"Starting the day at the Lacoste show always gets me excited: the music, the celeb front row, and sporty looks! I hit 13 shows after that: Jill Stuart, Prabal Gurung, Rebecca Taylor, Ostwald Helgason, Prism by Anna Laub, Tibi, Alexander Wang, Edie Parker, Grey Ant, Jonathan Simkhai, Isa Arfen, Harbison, and Zoe Jordan. Despite being a pretty strong day, I was done by 8 p.m., which is amazing! I usually end closer to 10 or 11."
"Eggs for breakfast, pizza for lunch, and an afternoon treat with a couple other editors kept me fueled through the day, which I navigated in a pair of comfy Sam Edelman slide sandals. I ended the day with my husband at Sel de Mer, near our house in Williamsburg, where we always split a burger and clam chowder. I ate most of it because it was such a busy day! I thought I was doing great with steps 'til a friend told me she gets 10,000 on a regular day. I did some jumping jacks to give my FuelBand a boost, but I don't think it helped much."

"My day began with shooting backstage at the Lacoste show for Maybelline. Load-in was 7 a.m., which meant waking up at 5. I had seven shows in total, all at Lincoln Center: Lacoste, Lie Sangbong, Son Jung Wan, Mara Hoffman, Herve Leger by Max Azria, Luis Antonio, and Malan Breton, plus a quick assignment on the steps of Lincoln Center for Clorox Bleach. This was an unbelievably calm, positively serene day. Normally I am running from the Meatpacking District to Lincoln Center and back again multiple times—I've clocked over 20,000 steps in a day before. Today was all in one location. I even had 20 minutes to sit down and have lunch! That never happens."
"I wore Vans Chima Ferguson Pro skate shoes to get through the day, plus lots of coffee. The low point was when my arse fell asleep during the Malan Breton show. It was 78 looks with no end in sight, and I had been sitting in one spot for so long with no chance of moving."
