In what may be the best Gucci takeover rumor yet, Page Six reports that Tom Ford is being considered for the head designer role. The article cites a very vague source as evidence, just saying that "his name has been mentioned" in talks. Of course, Ford has his own $1 billion business to run and he already pulled Gucci back from the edge once in the late '90s, but it still makes for more exciting headlines then the much more probable rumor that the brand's head accessories designer, Alessandro Michele, will fill Frida Giannini's spot. Update: Tom Ford's spokeperson told Style.com there's no truth to the rumors.
