Online shopping platform Lyst reports that seven out of the top 15 items trending on Lyst right now are knits, which prompted it to usher in the era of the "it-knit." Over three million shoppers visit the site every month and out of one million products displayed on the platform, sweaters are rising to the top of everybody's most-wanted list. Lyst noted that top sweaters are searched by their name now in the same vein as it bags, and there are 1,556 designers currently selling more than 25,000 sweaters on the site.
Lyst determined that all of the most popular knits had these common threads: a $400-ish price range, lots of patterns and/or graphics, high-quality craftsmanship, at least a few celebrity fans, and an imitation version sweeping through the fast fashion ranks. Isabel Marant's Samuel sweater is currently the most popular knit on Lyst, followed by a chunky Miu Miu knit, Bella Freud's 'Ginsberg Is God' sweater, a less expensive Etre Cecile option, and a Markus Lupfer sweater featuring a sparkly pineapple.
