Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

Remember back in September when Anthropologie announced it was launching a registry service and thousands got engaged on the spot? (Kidding, but there was lots of enthusiasm.) Now it's up and running and Anthropologie just profiled the site's first registrant, Holly Boedeker. In order to claim the title of first registrant, Boedecker didn't just beat everyone else to the punch—she actually found the test link that Anthropologie accidentally left live on the site for about twenty minutes and started unknowingly loading it up. The brand emailed her a couple hours later to explain what happened and embarrassment and apologies ensued. In the end, it all worked out: she was able to use the registry and Anthropologie profiled her wedding on its site, BHLDN gown and all.
