Athletic brand Under Armour recently announced that it will focusing more on women's apparel this year, but the brand has just added another category that it hopes to dominate in the near future: footwear. Nike veteran Peter Ruppe has been tapped by the brand as the senior vp of footwear, a move that should help to ignite even more shoe sales (the Washington Business Journal says that UA's footwear sales were up 50% in the third quarter of 2014.)

And Under Armour isn't the only brand cherry-picking top talent from Nike: late last year, Adidas notoriously paid designer Denis Dekovic over $1 million to join the team.
