British makeup artist extraordinaire Pat McGrath has been working on high fashion and editorial makeup since the early 1990s, and has been a highly sought after artist for magazines and shows ever since. Known for subverting what is traditionally perceived to be makeup, McGrath has experimented with jewels, latex, and fabrics, manipulating them to not only enhance the designer's work, but to showcase her own meticulous talent.
If anyone knows what the best makeup should look like, and more importantly, its capabilities and its quality, it's McGrath. To many fashion and makeup fans' delight, she finally dropped some fire gold pigment in a limited numbered batch of 1000, but also to their dismay it sold out pretty much immediately. The pigment is shaped like sequins and comes beautifully packaged in something that looks like a collaboration between Maison Martin Margiela and Le Labo.
McGrath had been teasing the pigment on her Instagram account for months, featuring photos from an editorial shoot with Kim Kardashian for The Violet Files.
