For her second pregnancy, there's even more of a reason to keep an eye on the reality star's sartorial choices. Her husband and personal stylist — and it might well be the other way around — isn't watching from the sidelines anymore.
"Kanye didn’t help me last time," Kardashian told StyleCaster in June of 2014. "He helped me right after, he was like ‘Okay I can’t take this anymore, I’m gonna help you.’" What a stand-up guy! Kardashian also vowed that she would approach her style in a different way. "I’m definitely going to be more simple and I don’t care if I wear the same thing over and over, as long as it fits and I am comfortable," she said.
So, with nine months of experience under her belt, let’s see how much has really changed. We pulled looks from Kardashian's first and second pregnancy to compare and contrast how her maternity style has evolved since 2013.

We start with quite possibly the nadir of Kardashian's first time expecting. Has anything come to epitomize Kardashian's disastrous pregnancy style more than this Givenchy floral dress? Kardashian even donned the getup on Halloween this year, which some speculated was a big F you to the haters, since she still supports the detested design.
It wasn't until later we learned that Kardashian was pregnant at the 2015 Met Gala — "I tried to suck in my stomach on the red carpet," she later told Vogue Spain — but her revealing sheer Roberto Cavalli dress would set the tone for many skin-showing looks to come.

Kardashian's two MTV award appearances reflect the reality star's willingness to leverage her ties to high-fashion designers. In 2013, she turned to Hedi Slimane and Saint Laurent for a plain black frock. In 2015, she enlisted Olivier Rousting to lace her in a standout custom Balmain dress.

2013 is the old overly-opulent Kim. She's wearing a wrist full of chunky diamond bracelets, has bling to match on her neckline and ears, and is carrying a white fur stole. In 2015, Kim pulls off an elegant white Valentino dress complete with what has become one of pregnancy number two's signature looks: a cape.

Even the way Kardashian wears revealing sheer and cut-outs differs greatly between pregnancies. Kim talks about not being comfortable in her own skin while with child, but it's clear that she's accepted her body more this time around. The sheer Givenchy look seen around the world put the focus on Kardashian's belly; something she tried desperately to avoid while she was pregnant with North.

2013 Kardashian uses feathers to cover up her baby bump while inexplicably pairing the dress with one of her favorite pieces of maternity wear, leather pants. 2015 Kardashian uses feathers as a slight embellishment while proudly displaying her body in a see-through Proenza Schouler design. The look was so hot it literally caught fire.

On the left, Kim answered the age old question, "Should I get bangs?" (No). The hairstyle aged her quite a bit; she certainly didn't look like the soon-to-be Internet breaker on Paper magazine's cover, but rather a mom with a night on the town and new ~*fun*~ haircut. The Kanye influence is most evident in her Yeezy Season 2 beige appearance, as her husband literally constructed this look.
Out and About
During her first pregnancy, Kardashian gravitated toward three major looks.
The first was the reality star's desire to embrace her new status and emulate Kate Middleton, who was also pregnant and owning her classy maternity style across the pond.

The image in the bottom righthand corner sparked the New York Post to ask, "What the Frock?"
Another trend that kept rearing its shiny head was leather. The fabric with the least give is the one Kardashian chose to wear most while carrying another human being in her body.

There were also experiments in covert gestation. When it comes to covering up her baby bump, Kardashian will try anything once! And that includes feathers and animal-printed peplum.

Unfortunately, an unintended theme of pregnancy number one seemed to be getting turned into a meme. When Kardashian stepped out in this black and white dress the Internet responded instantly with whale references.

Kardashian discovered a winning formula during her second pregnancy, though. The reality star has taken to a simple equation of top + skirt + cool piece of outerwear. Kardashian typically wears color head-to-toe for a pulled together look.

Kardashian also shows a fondness for simple dresses made out of stretchy fabrics that hug her curves, but don't constrain her like her old friend leather would. At this point her entire closet seems to be some muted melange of brown, black, beige, nude, and the occasional blush. Basically, Kanye's beautiful dark twisted beige fantasy.

She may have dressed more Dash/less 'Ye during her first pregnancy, but Kim has definitely found her style with her soon-to-be son. But perhaps in 2013 she was channeling all her style success into the best dressed starlet of the year, North West.
