Former creative director of French fashion house Lanvin, Alber Elbaz has joined Instagram. Since being fired by the brand by the brutal force of board members and investors, Elbaz has probably got something up his sleeve for his next attempt at domination.
In the meantime, the Moroccan designer has finally decided to shed his aversion to all things social media and join popular photo sharing site Instagram. Known for his affinity towards bright colors on silky smooth satin, Elbaz ensured the caption for his inaugural post was fully representative of just that:
HUGE hugs+BIG thanks to all of you around the world for showing me so much L❤️VE. The day after my last show in PARIS , I met with Kevin Systrom, the co-founder of Instagram. I joked and told him.."I don't do Instagram because I don't have 'photogenic' friends...only good FRIENDS And I don't take pictures of food
.....I prefer to EAT
But this past 2 wks made me realize how many AMAZING friends+supporters I have....And YES,they are all 'photogenic'...because they are all BEAUTIFUL 'inside-out'.
Instagram is a beautiful way to communicate+share L❤️VE.
I L❤️VE YOU ALL BACK
I am now on #Instagram !!!
Thank you @kevin

Other designers such as Givenchy's Riccardo Tisci have been known to use Instagram to post pictures from their social life to artistic inspiration, so Elbaz is probably trying to document his life, tease future projects, and perfect the selfie.
