Teen Vogue continues to undergo changes beyond the business side reshuffling that a spokesperson confirmed last week. Sources close to Vogue now confirm that Teen Vogue digital director Phillip Picardi is reporting to Vogue site director Ben Berentson (while still also reporting to Teen Vogue EIC Amy Astley and Condé Nast's head of digital, Fred Santarpia). Teen Vogue's digital team will move to the same floor as Vogue.com, though TeenVogue.com will continue to publish content on its own site.
This is reminiscent of Style.com's transition to VogueRunway.com, a subset of Vogue. Last November, Style.com's EIC Dirk Standen and publisher Matt Rice both began reporting to Vogue — Standen to Anna Wintour, and Rice to Vogue publisher Susan Plagemann, who as of last week is now also overseeing the Teen Vogue business. Style.com staffers moved to the Vogue.com floor, but by April it was announced that Style.com would cease editorial operations and migrate to VogueRunway.com; layoffs followed. (Style.com is set to become an ecommerce site.)
On another Condé Nast floor, Details.com is transitioning over to GQStyle.com, a subset of GQ that the brand is trying to amp up, while Details, the magazine, is going out of print. Many believe Teen Vogue's print property is in danger of the same fate, though Condé remains tight-lipped about any changes coming to the print product or staff.
