The final scene of Trainwreck — in which Amy Schumer leaps off of a trampoline in an attempt to slam dunk a basketball and immediately faceplants — is pretty on brand as is. But according to a new clip released to Entertainment Weekly, it could have ended in a far more traditional, romcom-esque manner.
"The moment where [Schumer and Bill Hader] talk and kiss after the cheerleading sequence was so great that we knew we couldn't top it," explained director Judd Apatow. "But it is always wise to shoot something with a baby. Who hates a movie that ends with a baby? Just Darth Vader."
In the deleted scene below, watch Amy Schumer's character be "so motherly" and "oh my god so maternal." Don't freak out, though: the baby's actually her sister Kim's, not hers, and despite a joke about how she's pregnant, they all go out for drink afterwards.
