Golden Globes 2016 Nominations: All 'Carol,' All the Time

This morning, the Hollywood Foreign Press Association (speaking through presenters Angela Bassett, America Ferrera, Chloë Grace Moretz, and Dennis Quaid) announced the nominees for the Golden Globes' 25 categories.

The entertainment industry often hails the Globes as an Oscar pre-show, but it's more fun than that, namely because it's one of the only award spaces where film and TV stars mingle together. Viewers who have interest in both mediums get those interests catered to in a cool, three hour block of television. Enjoy a taste of Carol in between Mr. Robot episodes? Of course you do. Like to wind down with a little Crazy Ex-Girlfriend after all that heavy Spotlight journalism? Sure!

Also, Ricky Gervais is hosting this year, and he's quite the wild card. Will Americans respond to his subtle British humor and dick jokes? Who knows! Let's find out for the fourth time!

The 73rd annual Globes goes down on January 10th on NBC. Take a peek at all the nominations below to prepare thyself.
