Former Lucky EIC/current Instagram exec Eva Chen's adding yet another demand on her time in addition to answering all of Twitter's most urgent skincare questions. Luxury online retail giant Yoox Net-a-Porter just appointed Chen to serve on its board. Chen currently is Instagram’s head of fashion partnerships, and she'll collect a sitting fee for her gig serving as one of Net-a-Porter's independent directors, according to Fashionista.
"Eva's appointment brings our customers right onto the board," CEO Federico Marchetti said in a press release. "She is one of the industry's most connected and innovative voices and brings a fresh, youthful perspective together with exceptional expertise at the convergence of social commerce and fashion." Net-a-Porter's been trying to ramp up mobile shopping and social shopping, so maybe that's what Chen and her half a million Instagram followers could help out with going forward.
Yoox Net-a-Porter Group also named Vittorio Radice of Italian department store chain La Rinascente and formerly of Selfridges as an independent director. The board now comprises 11 directors, seven who are independent.
